Personal Project 1: The Memory Train
In this project, I imagined an interface that enables passengers in a train to revisit their memories by listening to songs that trigger their senses. I came to think about this concept while listening to "Lil Watan" by Mashrou Leila, as I was waiting for the train on Laurier Station in Montreal. I noticed that my body's reactions to the song were amplified due to my surroundings.
I wanted to explore further the idea of sharing a private moment with strangers and turning personal experiences into a shared one.
The passenger enters the train and chooses a song on the smart tablet located in the cabin. The passenger sits down on the auditive chair and places the helmet on. The song is blasted using the cabin speakers and the memories are retrieved from the passenger. These memories are then displayed using the train's interactive windows in order to be shared with other passengers.
